About Arthur J. Wall Jr. and the Memorial Scholarship Fund
Knowing what a special place Wilton was, Art Wall decided it would be a perfect spot to live and raise his family. A Wiltonian since 1981, Art was very active in the community. He jointly owned Wallflowers Florist & Gift Shop with his wife Sue and took an active role in many civic organizations including Parks & Recreation, Chamber of Commerce, Football & Lacrosse Booster Clubs, Wilton Sports Council and co-chaired Wilton’s first class project – Project ’88 – a program which continues to provide a safe and entertaining graduation night for W.H.S. seniors each year.

Arthur J. Wall Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Since the establishment of the Arthur J. Wall Jr. Scholarship Fund there have been 19 outstanding young men and 11 outstanding young women who have been presented with one of Wilton High School’s top awards. June 15, 2017 marked our 19th Annual Arthur J. Wall Jr. Scholarship Award Presentation and both recipients were presented with a framed certificate and a $5,000 scholarship. Additionally, due to the success of our annual golf outing, we started a Community Outreach Program where we provide a portion of the proceeds from our annual golf outing to other local 501 (c)(3) organizations who help Wiltonians and the surrounding communities. The 2016 Community Outreach Recipient was Wilton Student Financial Aid Committee which was provided a check for $5,000. Past recipients Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps (2015), Wilton Youth Council (2014), The Wilton Police Gift Fund (2013) and Trackside Teen Center (2012) also received $5,000 donations on behalf of the golfers and businesses who support our annual event. We are pleased to have started a tradition of giving back to this great community and will announce our 2017 Community Outreach Recipient after our annual golf outing.
Arthur J. Wall Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament
Art was a special member of the Wilton community for so many years and it is fitting that our annual outing is consistently supported by the residents and businesses in town. Even as some of our friends have moved to other areas of the country, we know we will be able to get together at least once per year to play golf, remember Art and have a great time. The strength of our fund and the scholarships we award each spring would not be feasible without the businesses and friends who support us each September so take a moment to visit our Sponsors page before you leave the site.
As we have done for the past five years, a portion of proceeds from this years’ outing will be presented to a local 501 (c) (3) organization that is dedicated towards helping the Wilton community and those who call Wilton home as part of our Community Outreach Program. Past recipients include Wilton Student Financial Aid Committee (2016) Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps (2015), Wilton Youth Council (2014), Wilton Police Gift Fund (2013), and Trackside Teen Center (2012) each of whom were presented a check for $5,000.
Additionally, due to the success of our golf outing and longstanding support of friends and businesses, we were able to significantly defray the cost of a brand new scoreboard for the WHS Varsity Baseball Team.
We look forward to announcing our 2017 Community Outreach Recipient during the event and hope you will join us again this year to make our outing as fun, entertaining and successful as it has been for the past 18 years!
